Questions contractors ask
Does my client need the app?
No. The signing link opens in any phone or computer browser. They review the quote, sign with a finger or type their name, and the approval comes back to you.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes. Open Tapeline in Safari and add it to your home screen. The Android app is on Google Play. If voice drafting isn't available on your phone, type your notes or use your keyboard's microphone key.
Where do the prices come from?
First from any price you say out loud, then your own price book, then typical material costs and labor rates. Each line is labeled with its source, and you can change any of them before you send.
Is the AI extra?
No. The on-device AI is included and works offline after a one-time download. If you'd rather use Anthropic or OpenAI, add your own API key; those requests are billed by them, usually cents per quote.
What happens after the free trial?
Subscribe to keep creating and editing. If you don't, nothing is deleted: your quotes stay on your phone, and you can still open and export them.
Can I bring my own prices?
Yes. Save rates from any quote into your price book, or import a CSV file of your materials and labor rates.
